Normandie Models Association : Background

Normandie Models was established a few years ago (in 2003) due to the input from Bettina Valogne Delaney (of Irish origin), the president and founder, who was passionate about the word of fashion and Haute-Couture.

From a young age, Bettina dreamed about progressing in this environment. She took part in some fashions between 1987 and 1994. Unfortunately, her life went in another direction but Bettina never forgot her dream and especially the difficulties of realizing it.

For information, she worked for about 15 years in the sales force of the biggest laboratories of the pharmaceutical industry, where she was able to optimize amongst other things, her communication skills by means of the organisation of meetings and professional shows (in France, Ireland, Great-Britain and Monaco).

Normandie Models is not only an association for whose the aim is to organize fashion shows and model training. Normandie Models is and foremost a team of passionate individuals: Bettina, (founder) of course but also her daughter Vanessa, 25 years old who goes with her on different occasions. Vanessa has also taken part in some fashion shows between 2000 to 2004. Today she has important responsibilities in a large pharmaceutical group but she continues with the adventure and takes an active part in the development of our young regional talent.

An addition to this team in 2005 is Michael Vallet, a journalist and presenter. Michael is in charge of media relations. He is 31 years old and he has several years' experiences in this environment.

He was already present at the time of our first show in 2003 as a member of the jury.

In 2007, Rachid Chopineaux,a model, who has international experience joined our organisation and became our vice-president without forgetting the whole team Normandie Models (models, hostesses, photographers), office workers (Joëlle: secretary, Stéphane Aussy, treasurer...) and different participants ( stylists, fashion designers, dancers, make up artists, hairdressers...).

Our short term objectives are:

- the creation of a company which could promote the employment of several personnel with regards to public relations, sales, secretarial work, accounts, milliners...

Our aim is to promote our own shows, the clothes of fashion designers trained by our association the Normods trademark.

- The creation of Normods evenings and to promote them to businesses, casinos...

The prospect of a collaboration with other associations which have similar objectives, could allow us to optimize our communication and the realisation of our common goals. Working in collaboration can only beneficial.

As of today, we want to develop cultural exchanges with Ireland, Great Britain, Morocco and the Middle-East where we already have contacts.

In the medium term, a partnership with an Irish organisation situated in Dublin is the primary objective for Normandie Models for 2008-2009.

May 2007: Fashion show "Fashion Croisette"

On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Festival of Cannes, some of our model team Normandie Models took part in the last fashion show "Fashion Croisette", on Saturday the 5th of May 2007, organised by "Le Printemps" in "Le Havre" in collaboration with the ESC.

BAXTER, one of the official photographer of the most glamour Festival in the planet was there.

Thank you to "Créative Parade- Le Havre ESC Association (especially Florian and Alexia, our main speakers and to Mrs. Sandrine Gautier from "Le Printemps", who was responsible for marketing and coordinating the show ).

Flora Chambry, (during fashion show "Fashion Croisette " in "La Havre"), dress, handbag and accessories from "Le Printemps". Top Espoir (Hope Top) Normandie Models 2006/2007, elected at the "Grand Casino" in Dieppe, on October the 14th 2006.

MOULIN ROSE FASHION SHOW in Saint Adrien on April the 12th 2007 and on march the 20th 2008.

A part of the Models team Normandie Models was invited on Thursday evening to the big event organized by Synergy Partners (whose president is Mr Jacques Gaudin), entitled "la nuit du sport" in a magical place "Le Moulin Rose". This nightclub is the oldest in France, it has just celebrated its 80th birthday.

Our team of models, under the argis of our president Bettina Valogne Delaney, were modelling the clothes of the following shops: Gabriella (76 Tourville la Rivière), Giovanni Pivetta, Matt Sport and Sport 2000( 76 Rouen)...

The Models wore shoes by Rimini. Imagin'Air did their hair and their make up was done by Marie. Their accessories came from Optique Goupil (76 Le Petit Quevilly), Male models wore underwear from Intim'o, male underwear shop in Rouen...

US Quevilly, the Rouen Rugby Club, the Rouen Hockey Elite, the SPO Rouen Basket Ball Club and many other famous people from Rouen were present. The show was filmed by Normandie TV. The Normandie Models team was represented by Bettina Valogne Delaney, its assistant treasurer Ali Fatah, its secretary Vanessa Fatah, its representative for public relation and media Michael Vallet, as well as Margaux and Charlotte the dressers whom we would like to thank sincerely.

And on march 2008!

OUR ACTIONS

We have been able to demonstrate our talents in lots of shows in Rouen and the surrounding area. The SPO Rouen Basket Ball Club, whose number one supporter is Tony Parker and plenty of other organisations have shown confidence in us as partners.

Still in the context of a partnership, a calendar has been produced with the SPO Rouen Basket Ball players and our official representatives.

Normandie Models have also put on fashion shows and in june 2006, 4 of our models: Audrey, Adeline, Marion & Julien had the opportunity to model on direct 8 live on the programme Fashion 8, presented by Ginie VAN DE NOORT.

Audrey, Adeline, Marion & Julien caused a sensation by modelling swimsuits from a collection of NAOMI CAMPBELL. A top model who has moved into the design area and the label ARENA for Laure MANAUDOU, the Olympic swimming champion at the Athens Games.

Men, of course, are not to be outdone, Julien Dubos (noticed when an audition in February 2004) figurehead of Normandie Models is also a model (Agence Gladys, V.I.P, Contrebande...et maintenant Angels) in Paris. Julien recently modelled for Louis Vuitton: Mens collection Spring/Summer 2007 in Paris. Julien modelled in front of an audience of stars. The French actress Catherine Deneuve could admire our model. At the end of 2006, Julien appeared as a comedian in a clip of Thierry Amiel "Coeur Sacré"(Sacred Heart). He also most recently took part in a show for Christian Lacroix.

Re-looking night in Rouen (April 2006)

For information, Audrey Lamarche, Normandie Models representative official ( and ) took part at the competition's final ELITE MODEL LOOK in july 2006 in Paris.

TOP NORMANDIE MODELS COMPETITION

Introduction

Top Normandie Models names a young woman who could make her dream come true- that of becoming a model (recruitment, training). Our aim is to train her so that she avoids all the traps so often talked about, but also to help her put together a portfolio to take with her when applying to different model Agencies and during auditions. The winner and the two Top Espoir (Top Hope) models automatically join the Normandie Models team of models (a partnership contract is drawn up. Please note a member of the panel (when available) is Edith CLOEZ, director of the Model Agency EXCEPTION and délégué of Model Look competition from the famous agency ELITE.

For information, TOP NORMANDY MODELS ELECTION is reserved for girls from the 5 districts of Normandy. They must be between 16 to 22 years old and measure at least 1m72 in height. Parental permission is necessary for minors. The girls must live in Normandy.

-During this election, all the candidates will present themselves twice.

1st time: evening dress (either their own or borrowed from a designer)

2nd time: White Nomandie Models T-shirt and black short.

Several heats are envisaged in the 5 districts in Normandy and their main towns. The final stage is, of course, the regional final election of Top Normandie Models.

Our shows- events

The main event 2006 for Normandie Models : Saturday the 14th of October in the " Grand Casino Partouche " in Dieppe. Normandie Models organized the "NORMODS NIGHT"

The evening was shown on Normadie TV regional channel.

In the context of promoting regional talent, a member of guests were present at this event.

For your fashion shows (evening events, functions..), the organisation of competition Top Normandie Models, the Normods Night, the Normods Trophy (a competition for young designers), contact with companies and various establishments (put at your disposal our reception team )

In having confidence in us, you will help us to meeting our artistic goals (help in design, training....)

But above all, we want to develop a real project of mutual help and solidarity in the artistic domain through bringing out our regional talent: photographers, fashion designers, dress designers, models (recruitment training, dancers, choreographers, singers...

In partnership with dress designers from Normandy: We are suggesting original designs and we are hoping to introduce them to the public (specific and professional).

Our innovation is linked to our willingness to optimize the image of our region.

You will certainly know all about Normandy. So, let's become partners if you want to share our dynamism don't hesitate to contact us!

Why support us?

If you think that our regional designers are not recognised for that true value or if you yourself are encountering difficulties in expressing yourself artistically, join us...


In addition, you will be invited to our general meetings during which you will have the opportunity to make comments and suggestions.

You will be kept regularly informed about our shows and organisations and will be able to participate if that's what you want.

The Normandie Models Association also provides a training process so that the pitfalls, so often talked about in modelling are avoided. We can also, wherever possible, help your project to take shape in one of the above areas.

Important: The Normandie Models Association, without wishing to take the place of a medical body, is very vigilant with regards to 2 conditions frequently encountered by young women who want to succeed as models: anorexia, bulimia.

How you can support us


You need to send your application to our registered office together with your subscription- 10 euros.

For your information, the members of the Board of directors (President and, those who work in the office) are unpaid/ volunteers and the costs are minimal (they are not remunerated for their different areas of responsibility). We therefore need you support to help us to realise our objectives and to make ourselves known

For your information, Normandie Models Association is situated in Rouen since November 2003 (MDA since September 2005). Regional council is aware of our plans and has given us 2 subsidies (2004-2006).

Our internet website is operational since April 2006: more than 48 000 different visitors since its creation. If Internet users are French in the majority, we also have the visit of many Internet users from Belgium, Canada, Switzerland, Morocco, Spain, Italia, England, Ireland and even from Mexico.
